HGC Foundation Participates in the 2026 Light It Up Blue Event at Beijing's Water Cube

On April 2, 2026, in connection with the 19th World Autism Awareness Day, the 2026 Light It Up Blue public welfare event was held at Beijing's National Aquatics Center, widely known as the Water Cube. Under the theme “Light It Up Blue, Protect Hope,” the event used blue illumination, public-interest exhibitions, and inclusive activities to promote understanding, respect, inclusion, and acceptance of autistic people.

In China, HGC Foundation carries out related charitable support under the name Mercury Charity Fund (水星公益基金). HGC participated as one of the event's supporting organizations, and the HGC Mercury Charity Fund mark appeared in the on-site display of participating organizations. This page records HGC's participation as a completed action.

Event Overview

According to public reports, the event was organized by the National Aquatics Center together with the China Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation and the Chinese Language Education Foundation. The Beijing Representative Office of the China Council of Lions Clubs served as a co-organizer, with additional organizations providing public-interest advocacy support or participating on site.

The 2026 program included a public-interest art exhibition, a creative market, the “Voices of Starlight, Blue Resonance” performance, and a nationwide lighting ceremony. As the Water Cube was illuminated, landmarks and local programs in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Hefei, and other cities also participated. These program and nationwide coordination details come from organizer materials and public reporting; they are not presented as outcomes independently delivered by HGC.

Public reports state that the Water Cube's Light It Up Blue event began in 2011 and reached its 16th consecutive year in 2026. Its continuing purpose is to increase public attention to autistic people and create more space for understanding, inclusion, and participation.

Scope of HGC's Participation

HGC was one of the participating supporting organizations, not an organizer or co-organizer. This page does not attribute the overall event, nationwide coordination, public-interest market, performances, or historical cumulative figures to HGC. It also does not publish donation amounts, market proceeds, attendance, or beneficiary figures that HGC has not separately verified.

HGC's record focuses on participation in public advocacy, support for autism-related charitable activity, and retention of verifiable on-site materials. Photographs involving participants, people with disabilities, and families are used only to document the event setting; they are not used to identify individuals or disclose personal information.
